Crop Cutting Survei Paddy Subround-I 2024

Gunungsitoli, 17 January 2024 - BPS-Statistics Gunungsitoli Municipality held the 2024 Subround I Crop Cutting Survey in Bawadesolo, Gunungsitoli Idanoi on Wednesday, 17 January 2024. This activity was carried out by tile officers accompanied by the Head BPS-Statistic Gunungsitoli Municipality and Organic Supervisor. This Ubinan Survey has the main objective of collecting data on paddy commodity productivity per hectare, as well as related information, such as coordinates of the location of the tiles, planting method, planting system, use of fertilizer, pest control, and various other supporting information.

The process of this activity begins with taking points on the rice fields that will be tiled using the FASIH application, followed by measuring the land using footsteps. The calculation results will be input into the application. The application will later draw a sample of coordinate points to be harvested. The samples taken were 2.5 x 2.5 meters in area. After harvesting, the officer will count the number of clumps inputted in the application. Next, the rice is threshed from what is harvested to be weighed. After comparing it with the productivity of the previous subround, farmers said that the productivity of subround-I in 2024 was less than subround-IV in 2023. Farmers admitted that the reduced productivity was caused by pest attacks and the inability to buy pesticides.

With these findings, BPS not only succeeded in collecting statistical data regarding crop yields, but also described the actual challenges faced by farmers in dealing with unpredictable environmental conditions.
