Abstract

In February 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Gunungsitoli City was 2.71 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.61.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: transportation group by 10.37 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 5.17 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 4.60 percent; personal care and other services group at 3.77 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group at 3.33 percent; education group of 1.76 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.87 percent; and the health group at 0.22 percent. Y-on-y deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by a decrease in the expenditure group index, namely: clothing and footwear group by 1.32 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 1.09 percent; and the equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group at 0.87 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate in February 2024 was 0.45 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Gunungsitoli City in February 2024 was 1.21 percent.
