Abstract

In March 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Gunungsitoli Municipality will be 3.90 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.00.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: transportation group by 11.71 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group at 5.84 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 5.40 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 5.17 percent; personal care and other services group at 3.81 percent; education group by 1.76 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.64 percent; and the health group at 0.33 percent. Y-on-y deflation occurred due to a decline in prices as indicated by a decline in the clothing and footwear group index of 1.24 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.99 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group at 0.28 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate in March 2024 was 0.37 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Gunungsitoli Municipality in March 2024 was 1.58 percent.
