Abstract

In August 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Gunungsitoli Municipality was 2.24 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.11.
Inflation y-on-y occurred due to price increases indicated by the increase in the expenditure group index, namely: recreation, sports and culture group by 8.37 percent; personal care and other services group by 6.64 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 4.49 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.70 percent; health group by 1.95 percent; and education group by 1.01 percent. Deflation y-on-y occurred due to price decreases indicated by the decrease in the expenditure group index for information, communication and financial services by 1.46 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.44 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.24 percent; transportation group by 0.16 percent; and household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.09 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate in August 2024 was 0.44 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate in Gunungsitoli Municipality in August 2024 was 1.69 percent.
